Rivne Region in a Nutshell Rivne region is located in the north-western part of Ukraine, close to the European Union border (100 km) and Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine (250 km). It is conveniently situated at the crossroads of international transport highways (E373, E40, E85) and enjoys developed railway and motorway systems, as well as an international airport that has the capacity to receive and service all types of aircraft.
Rivne region has considerable production capacity and a highly developed technical base. The growth rates of industrial production are among the highest in Ukraine. Energy production, chemical industry, machine-building, metalworking, wood processing, construction materials and food production are the main industries in the region. Moreover, the region is actively transforming its industrial structure to attract investments in the high-tech and innovation industries. A number of industrial zones are prepared for development in the region.
Qualified human resources are abundant due to developed network of modern universities and vocational schools.
Six hundred deposits of eighteen types of minerals can be found in the region. Among them are beds of amber, basalt, copper, tuff, and granular phosphorite, as well as deposits of granites, diorites, and gabbro near the EU border. Almost 20% of Ukraine's peat deposits can be found in the region. Furthermore, Rivne region's forest resources are among the largest in Ukraine.
Rivne region boasts unique historical sites, recreation zones, rich culture and traditions that stimulate tourism development in the region.
